Integrated Exhibits

Integrated Exhibits can use many forms of murals and models. The model pictured below, is a durable interactive model of the jaws of a blue whale. Baleen whales, like the blue whale, lack teeth and instead feed with plates of baleen. The model retained important details such as the krill deposited on the tongue during feeding.

Below is an example which uses many models integrated into a tide pool exhibit. This work is at the Point Reyes National Seashore, Bear Valley Visitor Center, California. Point Reyes Tide Pool and Beach Zone is 8′ X 24′ X 4′. This exhibit includes touchable tidepool rocks, marine invertebrate animals, seaweeds, water, and sandy beach are made out of FGR plaster, urethane, acrylic, polyester resin, and mixed media. The Ojai Valley Museum is located in a beautiful old mission-style church. Alumni Exhibits designed, built and installed a large walk-in diorama in the pulpit, depicting a medley of the amazing local habitats in the surrounding hills, home to the California condor, mountain lions, and many native species.
