A full-scale model of a Bald Eagle

A full scale model of a Bald Eagle was fabricated for the Harnish Visitor Center. In the areas of Eagle Point, Oregon, the eagles hunt the Coho salmon by swooping down and snatching the fish out of the water with their talons. The pose of the model demonstrates this activity.

Beaver Model in Eagle Point

Alumni Exhibits fabricated a full size model of an American Beaver for the Harnish Visitor Center. The beaver works as a key species in an aquatic ecosystem by creating wetlands that are used by many other species. The design of this model includes a photo-op seating area for visitors to have their picture taken with the beaver.

The unique aquatic ecosystem of Little Butte Creek

A mural depicting the unique aquatic ecosystem of Little Butte Creek, a tributary of the Rogue River near Eagle Point, Oregon was painted by Alumni Exhibits. The spawning habitat of the Coho salmon in small streams with stable gravel substrate is shown, along with many of the supporting species unique to the area.

Takelma mural

The Takelma were a Native American people that lived in the interior southwest of Oregon. Alumni Exhibits painted this mural for the Harnish Visitor Center depicting the intensive and coordinated labor involved in large-scale capture of Coho salmon with spears by men and their cleaning and drying by women.

Spawning Coho Salmon

Alumni Exhibits fabricated a school of spawning Coho salmon to hang at the Harnish Visitor Center in Eagle Point, Oregon. During their spawning phase, the jaws of the Coho salmon become hooked, and they develop bright red sides along with spotted heads and backs.
